I have been a very bad blogger!

 

I have been such a bad blogger lately!!! But I will do better I promise :) 

So this happened this weekend....

 

After over 3 years of dating Allen finally asked me to marry him :)  I am over the moon excited and do not even know where to begin...

So excited for this journey!

 

It's My Birthday edition of Wino Wednesday :)

So if you don't know it is my birthday :) I am turning 29 today ekkk.  My momma sent me the sweetest text message that made me cry and giggle at the same time.  She said she wanted to be the first to wish me a happy birthday You are only 29 once but some women are 29 forever :)   This is very true but I am obsessed with numbers in increments of 5 so I might be happier being 30 forever :) 

Anyway this post is about my birthday and wine.  I am so excited about getting together with some of the best girls in the world tonight to celebrate my birthday with wine (1/2 priced bottles even better) .  I honestly couldn't think of anything better.  Happy Birthday to me and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) I feel like we could be friends if she wasn't so serious.  Maybe she needs more wine :) 

I will take pictures tonight and post tomorrow for the aftermath!!!!!

Wine Wednesday

Happy Wino Wednesday Everyone! I am linking up with Danielle and Aubrey for Wine Wednesday!

I am very excited to get together with my ladies tonight for some yummy dinner and wine at one of our favorite places.  Especially to spend any extra time with my bestie :) It is so funny how now we have to schedule times to see each other when she use to basically live at my house and we were going out all the time.  Oh how the times have changed, where did we get the money to go out like we did lady.  

I am looking forward to tonight because we also get to celebrate the first day of SPRING!!!! Yay to warmer and longer days.  I absolutely love this weekend.  Allen and I had my brother and his new girlfriend over and we spent most of our time outside.  We sipped on a lovely Pinot Noir and enjoyed the summer like weather.  Being that I am traditionally always a Cab girl I like the light airiness of a pinot noir in the spring/summer :)  And of course with the summer coming means pool parties and hopefully some of Danielle's yummy sangria :)

Cannot wait to try these wine pops :)

Packing!!!!!

Allen and I are leaving for the beach today when I get off work for his yellow ribbon ceremony this weekend.  I am so excited to leave for a few days but I am having a hard time getting motivated to pack.  Maybe because I did a little too much of this last night

It has been a stressful week and it was Wednesday what do you expect!

While Allen is at meetings all day Saturday and Sunday morning I am planning on being lazy and listening to the beach but I still need clothes.  I ALWAYS overpack and I am trying not to this weekend but I have to have all my comforts of home.  When I go home at lunch I am going to speed pack so I am trying to get my list of stuff together.  I always have to have a list because I love checking things off. 

Right now my list is:

Wine

Carolina Wine Glass 

Vodka (for Allen)

Diet Coke (I do drink other things besides alcohol)

All my toiletries 

2 Pillows

Stuffed Penquin

Heating Pad (I cannot sleep unless I have all three: pillows, penquin & hp)

Bathing Suit (maybe it will be warm enough to layout)

Beer (only if it is warm enough to lay out)

Comfy Clothes

Maybe one cute outfit?????

Spices to cook with (it is too expensive to eat out down there and who am I kidding I love cooking more anyway :) )

Candles (cannot live without those)

Laptop

Cellphone charger (at least 2 because Allen will forget his)

Little cube speaker to listen to music on the balcony

I feel like I am forgetting something oh well I guess I will just use my mothers motto "you can't forget something that you can just buy down there"

Cannot wait to get down there and rest and relax :)

Ok so I am an addict!!!  I have an obsession with wine glasses.  I just can't get enough of them.  I have so many it is unreal but I can't stop myself from buying cute glasses.  In all fairness though I am also obsessed with everything to do with place settings.  I have tons of cute glass, loads of cutlery and 5 sets of dishes.  I get it honest though my mother is the same way. :)  It could also be told that I am notorious for breaking them as well...maybe a little too much wine and I put a glass down a little too hard I don't know never the less I love them.

 

This one is one of my favorites because it is big and pretty and red.  But I don't use it too much because you can't machine wash it just hand wash and who always has time for that!

This one is my newest buy I got this one at the beach when Allen and I took our nephew Jackson

I love this one because it is unbreakable!!!! It is made like those Tervis Tumblers.  I will be taking it to the beach when we leave tomorrow :) 

I am excited because I think my bestie is coming over for some wine and chatting :)  I might even make her some of my potato skins.  Then later Allen and I are having chinese for dinner and watching Duck Dynasty!  It is amazing the things that you get excited for the older you get.

Tuesday Tunes

 

I was telling Danielle this morning that I wanted to start having a little more structure to this blog and I wanted to do something with music at least once a week.  So I am excited about this link-up.  I absolutely love music.  I come from a very musical family.  Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles,  cousins, we all sing and play instruments.  I use to sing Opera in my younger days but sadly my voice lessons went to the wayside when I graduated college and was "on my own."  

Anywho,  lately I have two obsessions. The first band is Imagine Dragons.  I absolutely love their sound and love the heavy percussion sound.  Check out this video they are great!

My other obsession is one I have had for awhile Bruno Mars!!!  I absolutely love him and his voice and I love how he can play any instrument.  He is such an amazing talent.  I have been cooking/cleaning to his new album Unorthodox Jukebox.  It is so great! A little heavy on the sex topic (which I don't mind) but such a great album.
